Tree service contracted by the city were trimming up around the overhead powerlines this week again. Last year the beautiful blue spruce on my lot was unfortunate enough to be taller than the lines. So the arborists scooped out her guts and left her with only her ribs exposed. This year they just lopped off her head even though it wasn't yet touching the lines. How long before this decapitated girl completing dies?

It will probably just grow a new top.

Unfortunately, more than likely, two side by side weak ones.

The highest limb or limbs usually will take over as the tree top.
