A praiseworthy legacy and aspiration for us all:

Said of John Beargrease (1858-1910), Minnesota Conservation Volunteer, Jan-Feb, 2012, Vol. 75, Number 440 --

With what important thing might a person be connected with?

None. His fame came not by doing some specific heroic act, but rather, when he had work to do or a job to perform, however humble or big, he did so, and did it dependably, cooperatively, and conscientiously.

He did his best. Can anything be more praiseworthy than that?

When I die I just hope people will say I tried to be good and do the right thing . . .
