Need nothing to do with Saturday.
I'm burned out on tunes and need a turn on.

Let's step back in time.........

I'm listening to Meet Me In Margaritaville right now, doing some work on the new shirts for the site, so...

I have pretty varied taste though. This is another big time fav:

Or there's this, went to a concert here about a year or two ago, wicked...

Wow! Great eclectic mix. Thanks. It'll be your fault if I start having too much fun.
I liked Papa's tune on the SOTW thread, Tommy Emmanuel - Guitar Boogie, that was totally new to me.
Fossil posted a link a couple years back about a show he went to. Wish I remembered.
More please. The evening is young and so are the hearts.
Peace and a good evening to you all-
Kenny

In memory of an awesome voice....

Here's one I'd imagine you haven't heard before

Wish I could find a you tube of Roy Hurd's OLD stuff (when he went by Poncho), like Old Jigger and Road Song 86.

Whitney always makes me weak and yes, I do know Chris Shaw.
Lot's of unknown talent, and known talent, in Upstate.
Thanks very much-
Can I have some more please?
Thanks-
Kenny
(Eclectic, did you ever know Dave Donelly? A good friend who recently passed.)

Whitney Died, Kenny. Sad.

Wow..not many people I run into this side of the state that have heard of him. I really wish I could find an online copy of the tape I've got from Roy Hurd. The one song starts off in spoken word in native American. I *think* it's Ray Fadden speaking, but I'm not sure.

No...never heard of him, sorry. My mom and I used to go to the 'Dacks about once a year. Ever go here?

We used to go up there in the winter and ski on the property. I couldn't believe it when she told me it was closed and abandoned, DH and I checked it out the last time we were up there and that's what we found. Sad.

Never been to that particular lodge but yes, many times in the "Daks."
The many ruins are sad.
Got a picture of a dozen of us when we climbed Marcy in a blizzard in February around '79.
Maybe I can get my boy to help me load it tomorrow if you're interested.

Dixie- Reba is not exactly a hoppin' tune but yes, it's time to tuck the wife in
and then, maybe have a cigarette. :smirk:

Thanks for a really great evening.

Kenny

Here's one more, and adaptation of The Little Old Lady:

That *was* the Wilderness Lodge in Indian Lake. GREAT food and the owners were great people.

Cool...never climbed any of the peaks. Wanted to hike up to Santanoni but never did. Mom was more of a cross country skier and DH and I never made it up before he messed up his back, so climbing didn't seem like a good idea. I have been up in one of the float planes on Long Lake though. Twice. In the same plane, with the same pilot, about 20 years apart!! The brown one, from Helms.

I resent that. The wife's having one birthday tomorrow. Not all of them.
She is from near Pasadena.
Love you guys-
Kenny

We came back from Ca. about '85 right after we got married and took a long loop up through the
mountains and down the "Lawrence."
We too, did the float plane at Long Lake. Freakin' awesome memories.
Thanks-
Kenny

Oops, lol. Not a commentary, I just like that one. Haven't been back to the WDC in two years, went every year from 03-09. Too many DDs and not enough cruisers and the cops are all out to make $$ on out of state plates.

Never made it to that coast. Don't like earthquakes.

Damn planes scared the #%$ outta me...BOTH times. The first time someone brought their dog and it was calmer than me (granted I was like, 10 or something).

Here's another one from my youth...

Told you I had a varied taste in music...
