With the install of my new liner, I am getting much better control of the fire in my Sierra Hearthstove. I am trying to learn how to extend the burn times properly.

If I shut the primary air intakes by about 75%, I can hold stovetop temps around 600 on the Rutland.

Question is, should I be seeing secondary combustion? Or, does my wood smoke up and that's that?
