I try to keep my expectations of movies grounded...they are spending way too much money on special effects and not much on story.

I liked all the David Mitchell books a lot...the first 100 pages were 'hard' in each one, and then it clicked.

I am convinced the Cloud Atlas movie will tick me off. We'll see.

I think I liked "Thousand Autumns....' even better than cloud atlas.

Currently reading Sarum: The novel of England by Edward Rutherfurd. A couple years ago I read his book Russia, which I really liked. Sarum so far is ok and a similar style, though a bit drier than Russia.
