My mom had this tree "stump" in the back yard she wanted down. I was pretty sure it was cottonwood and don't even remember when the tree was alive.

Turns out it was ash! Dang hard Ash too! Little 260 was about maxed out.

Some of the other scrounge from the weekend. Local brush drop off about a mile away had been loaded up with Ash and Oak. Buddy donated some slab wood that he didn't have room for. All told, just short of 2 cord in a weekend.

Two cords would make a banner weekend here. Good pics and a nice score. Was some of the 'stump' punky? Looked old in the picture.

2 cord is definitely a banner weekend. Did you drive all 3 wood haulers yourself?

I agree! It was a good weekend for gathering! I need a couple more like that to fill the one row to the property line.

There is two trucks....the brown/silver Toy I have owened since 1993 and the red Tacoma since 2001.

View of the stacks from the road....the middle stack has filled in since this picture was taken.

OMG... its like looking at a supermodel....or seeing an angel....or , well,.........you get the point. :p Nice friggin' stacks, man!

............I think I need to get out more.

Thanks! The one on the left is for this winter, most of it 3 years drying except the wood on the ends. The one on the far right is 2 years old and cut to length for use at my house and will have to be trimmed and split again for use in the little Lopi. 70% oak, 25% Ash and with the slab wood additions there is pine, very little old boxelder and some maple too.

Pile on the left is roughly 90' long, one on the right slightly shorter if I remember correctly.

Good for you clutch. Nice haul indeed and that ash will burn really nice for you. How many cord do you burn in a winter?

At my house I burn about 6 or so through the Clayton in the garage. The stuff in the pictures above is at my mom's and I have no idea. I just got her Lopi Republic 1750 installed so we shall see. I'm hoping around 4 cords a year since historically that is about what I'm capable of scrounging around her place since I'm cutting for two stoves now I'll be busy. This was a productive year down at her place as I had the use of a quad from a buddy and gained access to some places within a mile or two.

At 4 cords a year, I should be close to 2 years ahead....
