Feeling the Heat

Friday, as we are walking our dogs, my neighbor from way down the street pulls up and says that he answered a craigslist ad about 20 dead ash trees being offered up to anyone who wants them. It turns out the guy lives 3 houses down from me. I can get to his yard with my tractor so I stop over yesterday and there are already three guys cuttin' away. I get my saw and here is what I got done. I will be going over there again this morning to finish up the bucking I could not get to.

Great score, you better thank those dogs.

I love ash. Splits like dream - seasons fast - burns great - whats not to like?!

That is a hell of a fun looking stack, you will be able to dazzle and amaze your friends and relatives with your prowess as a log splitter with those :-O

Your right a definite win. I look back to a couple of years ago when I got my stove and I was scrambling around for anything to burn.

I loaded up my tractor with small scrap pieces and burned them all weekend and they burned quite well. Didn't have to use any of my existing stock. I don't have the time to split this fall but will let it season as is and reload the shed in the spring.
