Sweeping Chimney Before Liner Installation?

Hi All,

I bet I know the answer to this question, but I wanted to get people's thoughts on this because I'm a cheapskate.

Do I need to sweep my chimney before I install my liner? Here are the specifics: 6" SS Flex Liner, insulated, 18' clay tile flue (11" x 11" inside dimension). Pic attached.
