I have Excel exterior pipe with a single bracket supporting the chimney from a roof edge. The stainless steel band that goes around the chimney pipe and the bracket is all in great shape, but the flat back T-nuts (that is the best term I can come up with for them) are corroding and failing. I probably have galvanic corrosion occurring with with three different metals, but these are 15+ years old so the issue is not severe . I did not dare take the intact ones off for a picture fearing they will break, but it is a flat disk against the chimney with a square stud at the base and then round threads on the outer section. The threaded portion is probably 1/4 in or 5/16. The image shows a broken one and a intact one with the square holes they mate with on the strap.
I stopped at my local stove shop and so far they don't have a source for just the T-nuts. I would have to buy a whole support kit, when I really just need three nuts (and I want to get spares for next time). Does anyone one know the correct name for these fasteners and a source for them? Thanks.
