Here it was freaking cold

It was average cold in Maine, which is still pretty cold!

What are you defining as freaking cold?

NICE ! colder than average here in Ohio. Less heating degree days.

Sweet set up.
Got 2 years worth of wood in, planning to start getting 3rd::some highway projects to be clearing close by, hope to score some birch.
Medium winter here, less snow & more wind than usual. long & dark (but always long & dark)

Thats a pretty cool machine. What's the max diameter log you can run through it? Looks like 10"-12" max.

33cm if it`s bigger I take the chainsaw and my other splitter.

So right at 13" then. That would work for at least 1/3rd of the stuff I'm cutting.

I'd hate to guess what the freight for one of those from Europe would cost, unless there's some US distributors. Be great to have one though.

Definitely colder than normal but I don't think we set many new record lows. The winter seemed longer because it just did not want to warm up this Spring. It has finally got some warmer and I hear there are a few folks around here waiting to cut their grass for the first time this year but it is a bit wet right now. And we just came in the house a bit ago and yes, we started the stove to take a chill out. No doubt though we'll let it go out as it is not supposed to get very low tonight.

Wood for 2011-2012 has been done since August of 2010. I'll be starting on 2012-2013 wood as soon as the ground dries up enough that the truck won't get stuck. Maybe sooner if I can find the trailer for the 4 wheeler.

Hansson,
What the hell is that?! That is amazing! How many cords of wood do you go through in a year? Are you a magician? How on earth did you conjure up such an amazing tool? That is unbelievable.

...Also, are those common in Sweden?

In the eighties here for another day or so. Makes it hard on the old guy moving two years worth of wood up the hill into the newly expanded wood shed. But when that is done I have to get down in the woods and deal with those two huge leaners that will be a large part of the 2013/2014 wood. That is gonna be the last of me cutting it. After that I am buying it c/s/d. Gettin too old for this chit. If Dennis loads and hauls 25"+ rounds out of the woods he has my undying admiration. Mine are usually in ravines and I am just flat tired of it.

In 2006 I told my wife I only had two more years of this stuff in me. Whoops.

I do about 8 cords. Not sure if I count right. My sister and dad use it to.
Anyway u do 1 year consumption in 1 day if you are 2 that run the machine.

They are common in Sweden. they all seem to be made in Finland.
Heres are some examples.
