This is a great forum

I have not yet installed my Pellet insert into existing fireplace
Just a question on the best venting method.
The specs say you can run 3 or 4" flex 18" above the damper or go all the way up the cimney.

Which to you all reccomend and why?
Does one give you better draft than the other?
Thanks!

On pellet stoves, i recommend the stub in method or direct connect. The disadvantage with this is you have to pull the insert to clean the ash out of the chimney, the advantage is that the stove has less backpressure on the combustion blower and its much less expensive to install.
