The private water we have is very hard.....Hubby saw an episode of "This OLD House"
supposedly state of California well checked and the site says Arizona, the Grand canyon area< not liking water softeners.
I don't watch the BOOB tube ,so I didn't see the episode any of y'all live in California or Arizona?

it supposedly uses citric acid..... Called company said their smallest unit for this little house $450 or so for the unit. Hubby not sure if he could even fit it in the tiny space and move the "cup" or what ver its called the hold it. Like presently we have two Culligan units. we put in sev years ago. HUBBY changes those filters and gaskets every 3 months. one is sediment other is carbon...The 3 months is up in a few days by the way
Years ago we ha a war oftener in our former nom it was again in the butt. Didn't really need it as we were city (flouride. and chlormine< etc) water users
thanks all. Im going to check for countertop units too... also what brand of water filters y'all have had cues with? so far gone with the readily available Culligan or brand
