Which type of Mortar ????

The brick that will surround the clay sleeve..... Does it have to be refractory cement or can I use regular cement/ mortar? The brick will be on the inside of a wall and not exposed to water.
 
I would call the local masonry supply store and ask them what they recommend. There are high temp mortar on the market, but they are unlikely to be found a the local hardware store.
