Question:
I have a factory installed Preway fireplace. This is our first fireplace so don't laugh too hard at this question. We just removed and repaired the blower and are not sure if it has been done correctly. Should the blower pull air from the bottom and blow out the top or the other way round? We have discovered that the maintenance done on not only the fireplace but every other aspect of this preowned home has been shoddy at best so the way it was set when we took it out could very well be wrong.
Answer:
Most pull air in from the bottom, circulate it around the back of the box and blow it out the front, on the top. The air warms up as it travels around the box. Colder air on the bottom, since heat rises.
