I'm really interested in maybe using Wilo circulators, even though I have ruled out the really cool/ highly efficient ECM Stratos and even the Stratos ECO (residential scale model) as not cost effective in terms of payback time on my scale.

However, even their "regular" circulators just sound really well designed and made and highly efficient, so I really want to consider using them.

But for the life of me, I am hitting dead ends on getting hard specs on their pump curves for various models so as to select which one, even though I do see various models for sale and in stock on places like Patriot Supply and Ebay.

Wilo North America's Website is sidelined, as to any details on anything, as "under construction" so there's no data to be found there, and I mostly end up in dead ends of voice mailboxes when I call Wilo USA or Wilo Canada.

Can anyone please point me to the curves, dimensions, electrical consumption, and other hard specs, which I've been told _do_ exist.... for the various Wilo-North-America non-ECM pumps?

Thanks

I personally would stick with Grundfos or Taco if you don't want the variable speed.... Grundfos has lots of their pumps available in 3 speed, and Taco has been in the hydronics business since God developed water! :)

From what you tell of Wilo's customer service and website incompetency, you don't need that....

Thanks Hansson--

the Grundfos Alpha 2 seems really interesting, but as far as I can tell, is not yet readily available in the US, or with US-type flanges
(then again, as Matt the deerefanatic notes, Wilo's data and support seems a bit iffy here so far too, and on an overall, not merely model-specific basis)
HotRod Bob Rohr tells me some people are ordering the Grundfos Alpha2s direct from Europe and installing them, but I am ?? on what warranty I'd then have.

Also, while I am really intrigued with the ECMs and "smart pump" technology, the big advantage seems to be for people with lots of zones run by valves, in which situations the head and loss are always shifting. in my case, I am going to have a small number of big zones, all ringed around a primary loop: Boiler; Storage (sometimes heat source, sometimes heat sink); future indirect DHW tank; water to air duct HX, and spare. Any of those "zones" should have a constant head loss once it is set up and tuned in, so while adjustability is good, in order to be able to fine-tune the system as I am getting it dialed in, I don't necessarily need "mart pumps" that respond to dynamic changes in the system on a moment-by-moment basis
