My tree guy dropped off some logs for me. What is ID and how long does it typically take to season?

Split and stack, out of rain with exposure to wind, should be fine by Nov.
 
looks like red maple. It's decent stuff. Not bad, but not great either. It splits easy, so if it's free I always grab it.
 
Those short chunks will be ready for your first burn in the Fall.
