These don't worry nearly as much as ones that have their tops hung up.

Looks like fun! Heres a great way to bring down the leaner
https://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/viewthread/48329/

I'm going to v the top 1/3 way through at about chest high and then cut from the bottom up. That v will stop the top from pinching and should drop to the ground and then I will winch the rest down.

Zap, if you cut 16" length firewood, then cut the tree into 4' lengths. In that leaner that should about get you to waist height which is much better than trying to cut up higher than the waist.

Also, there should be no need to cut a V in the top. Just cut half way or a little more and then cut from the bottom and it should do you well.

Thanks Sav, I usually don't cut the v but use it once in a while. Had one pinch at the top after that I used the v a couple times. Last weekend when I cut the smaller cherry that was in the same position I didn't use the v. The wood for next heating season I'm cutting 15 inches for better N/S loading in the Liberty.

Some of the softwood I'm cutting for the shoulder season will be 18 inches.

Zap, I like those which when you finish the cut still stays leaning. Then set the saw down and a gentle push and down it comes....going away from you. I've had some that I've used my foot to kick and even some I beat with a maul. Just whatever the occasion requires.

I run the 20 inch on the 390 but have the 16 and 18 inch also. The 310 has the 18 on it for this weekend.
