First fire of the year last night temps went down to 37 and damp, rainy, fired her up at 6pm,8 splits of larch with 15% moisture, stove top thermometer went to 650,and cat temp was hovering at 1000,at 8pm I dropped the t-stat to 1.5 a hair above actually. At 11:30pm house temps at 74,cracked the window near the stove about 4 inches ,at 8am house was 73,all larch was dust stove was 300,cat totally inactive,I'm calling it a 14 hour burn. As long as my t-stat aint wound backwards I'm happy. I've got 3/4 of a cord of the larch left for my shoulder season I'm liking it my cat was cherry red during a good portion of my burn.My stove was only a hair above halfway loaded, not recommended by BK,but it worked for me.
