It is December 18th today and is the first time all season that Ive gotten a fire going before the afternoon. Up until now I have been burning 4-6 hours at night and it has been bringing me through the following afternoon when I get home work. With over night temps nearing 10 degrees last night, the storage was a little low this morning so I got a fire going and has been going now for a good 3 hours. Its been a nice mild winter so far here in central MA with highs during the day in the 40s and lows at night usually around 30 or above with a few colder nights. The wood supply is looking good for this year, probably only gone through maybe a cord so far since October. How about everyone else? Lets hope this mild weather pattern continues into the first of year and hopefully the winter wont seem so long.

Happy burning!

Pretty similar results here, except I've been doing 2-3 fires a day in my insert trying to make it save oil which is my primary heat. And it has. I think we've used about 2 gallons of oil since Thanksgiving, mainly because of the mild weather but I'll take it. I think I've burned about a cord, too, which means I need to start poking around for more to make it through. The pallets I supplement with are free, so I'll just have to bring in more of those for now I guess.

I've been through two full cord now since October 1st. I heat my large house, my two stall garage, and my domestic hot water. It has been mild so far here in Northern New York as well. I won't complain either. I like all four seasons, but by the time the end of February is here I am ready for it to be over. Then usually the snow storms continue through March. :shut:

Hey Jay good to hear positive results about your system working well.
Indeed, Happy Burning Rob.

Like wise up here. Been enjoying the warm weather. But last night got down to about 2f. Tonight supposed to go to down to -6. I want to go the Caribbean. :)

But the ole' wood boiler is rockin' and rollin'

Yea Rob,
I love having the storage, I think back on my first year with the boiler and no storage and wonder how I survived. I cant imagine having the 1000 gallons.
