PM jeff_t he can tell you about it. I think the place he bought from had two kings they wanted to move, he got a darn good deal on his. This was a while ago though so I'm not sure if they still have them available.

I think they only had two, and cowboy billy bought the other a few weeks ago. You can try though. It was Storey Stone in Jackson 517-782-4033

Good deal, that's what I figured! When I was younger I spent a lot of time on the lake, not so much anymore. We have a pretty good Michigan following here, if you need anything just let us know! If you decide you may want to purchase one of these "ugly" Blaze King stoves and want to check one out in person let me know. I'm probably an hour or so from you.(between Romeo and Oxford)

It wasn't supposed to get very cold last night - just down into the mid-thirties. So around 7pm, right after supper, I just put four smallish splits in the bottom of the Princess.

After a bit it was going pretty good and I began dialing the t-stat back for the night.

Like many folks, we have one of those thermometers in the living room that displays the outside temperature (it reads from a remote sensor). My wife looked over at the gauge and remarked "it just got a degree warmer outside."

I didn't look up from my laptop, simply murmuring "yeah, I just put a couple pieces of wood in the Blaze King."

Supposed to have a low of 11 on monday night... then a high of 15 on tuesday with a low of 15 (no temperature change all day long? weird). I guess it'll give a little test.

The ugly comment wasn't directed towards you, it's an ongoing joke/comment that is always made about the BK stoves by people on this site.

I grew up in Romeo and lived/rented in Shelby for a half dozen years or so. We looked in the Shelby/Utica area when we were house shopping but ended up back in more of a country setting.

I think the only non cat to kinda go head to head is the equinox .. that box is close to the king .. and should get long burn times but not 40hrs!
I am truly amazed at what the BK guys are reporting for burn times!

I just pulled the sides into the center about an hour ago and the stove top is around 340-350 with it set on 1.75, it's 12:25 right now). It's now 3:00pm, stove top is 29x near the cat probe, just turned it up to 3.5 to warm the coals up so I can reload before going out. Hallway leading to the stove is 70* outside temp 38*. Roughly 17-18 hours since I loaded the stove with a stove temp still near 300*. :coolsmile:

Edit: Last one for me and I'm out for the night.

3:30 stove top back to 300 from burning down coals, loaded up with silver maple and some black walnut.

4:15 stove top hot spot 599, stove dial down to 1 fans off 36* according to accuweather.

Me again, just got in from last nights fun, moving a little slow but I'll make it.

Few minutes before 11am
Outside temp a mild 41*
Inside temp down to 67*(yikes!)
Stove top 230* after raking coals to the front(no meaningful heat for my house)
Loaded with chunks and uglies due to mild temps

Last load was 3:30pm yesterday, so nearly 20 hours between loads, probably had 17-18 hours of meaningful heat but unsure since I just got home.

It's just after 11pm and I loaded the stove with silver maple for the night I'm beat and couldn't wait any longer. The stove top was 330-340, temp in hallway leading to stove 70* outside temp 30* according to accuweather. We've had winds in the upper 20's all day and looks like it will continue for a while, lows are expected to be in the mid 20's.

I didn't do a good job of playing Jenga tonight so it's not a packed load but decent enough to allow me to sleep in on my last day off before going back to work.

An easy 12 hours on chunk wood makes me happy.

Actually I measured the usable fire box of the Equinox and it came out to 3.1cu ft, nowhere near it's advertised 4cu ft. The Buck 94 non cat claims a fire box over 4cu ft but I've never seen one.

I've got nothing worth much to report today, my wife was "cold" this morning 69* in the hallway and loaded the stove on me with chunks/uglies. Serves me right for sleeping to 11 :lol: she was burning in the new load when I got up so last nights tossed in load went around 12 hours but she didn't rake it into the middle so it had more in it. I was planning on recording good data today but it still isn't cold enough to burn it hot, it's 26* right now and my wife has it cooking in here!(73* in hallway leading to stove) the stove is on 1.5, stove top in the 530* range. I don't mess with the pregnant lady so she can do as she like. :lol:

Tonight is supposed to get into the teens so hopefully I'll have something useful to report soon. I'm hoping I can burn this load down fast enough to reload at a reasonable hour tonight so I can reload easily before work in the morning.

Winds off the lake 10-25 mph, gusts to 35 and flirting with 0 here tonight. Seems as good a reason as any to have a decent fire instead of burning junk. That is 95 pounds of 3+ years since split that will easily go in the King.

I'm in the same boat wind chills tonight with a stiff wind ZERO wind chills,this King better show me sumptin,no more little 30 degrees temps this is a taste of the real deal.All the King is gettin for dinner is white oak,3 splits and 3 shagbark hicks, and 3 bl splits take it or leave it, I better me lookin at 75 degrees tomorrow morning or he will be dethroned.

Loaded stove with 46.6 pounds of oak and silver maple(wife thinks I'm insane)

Outside temp. 23* NW wind 14mph
Inside hallway temp 70*
Stove top 746*, t-stat just below the "n" in normal or just below "2", fans on low

Tonight is supposed to get to 14* with NW winds near 20 mph, we'll see how it goes, I'm not sure what t-stat setting I need to keep the heat up and get me through the night with enough heat since we haven't had many cold nights yet. I may have to experiment with the t-stat settings some in this weather to get my desired inside temp.

Edit: another layer of small splits would be possible if I'd take some ash out, it's an inch or so below the bricks so I have about 5 inches of ash in the bottom.

That was the hot spot, ranged anywhere from 650-750ish. I always burn it hot before turning it down, it seems to work for me. I never even pay attention usually, only doing it for this thread. I know it gets hot but Solar burns his HOT and hasn't melted it so I think I'm ok. :cheese:

I'm sure you're ok..I just can't get that temp..you sure you didn't put some of those after burner tubes in there??
