I just checked the Enviro site and see they have a M55 Cast Zero Clearance Fireplace available. Not sure if it was before or not? Looks like its the standard insert with a Zero clearance kit as an option.

I compared the spec for the zero clearance model with the spec that I got with my model back in February. They are both identical, including the part number for the Convection Blower, both are part number 50-2064.

I asked my dealer to call their rep for enviro, witch they did, and he said he would look into weather they would replace the blower under warranty.

Well good news, bad news. Got the new blower direct shipped to the house. Its the same as the original,
not the updated version. My stove is the freestanding steel unit, wondering if the blower is different than the
cast unit. Oh well, got a new blower under warranty, and still have the old one to play with.

Does the new one look identical to the old one. On the motor side of old one there is a square plastic black box. On the new one the end is round black plastic. The new one throws much more air out of the heat tubes but also is louder. Im suprised they would send you the same old design. If you are interested in the new one you should send it back and ask for the upgraded one

I am experiencing the convection blower problem on my M55 as I described in another thread and I would like to add that my problem happenned at the same time I installed the Outside Air Kit. Could it be possible that the combustion air that used to enter just below the convection blower helped cool down the convection blower motor?

Bye

Benski,
No, the two should not be related.
