It's about time you guys got some nice cold temps out there, if only to remind you what REAL draft is again...

14 here right now. The liberty is cruising away at 675 with a living room temp of 84. Going to load 3 large locust splits N/S for overnight and the living room temps should still be in the upper 70s in the morning.

Just hit -10.3, have another three or four loads worth of ironwood inside for the coldest nights. Still have chit load of sugar maple for February if needed.

Minus 3.5 here in Vermont. About to load the Fireview for overnight burn.Have used maybe a cord and a half so far. That being said with this cold have to run vt castings propane stove on other end of hs, as house is 80 feet long.

Got to -20° last night, up to -3 was the high today, now headed colder again tonight.
Has been clear & sunny, just not much heat from the sun yet.
Burning on high & still had to kick the furnace on this AM to get the house to 70.
Not much more than 8 hour burn on high & can only do 3/4 loads with all the hot coals taking up room.
Hope the winds don't start up, it would rally be hard to keep up if they do.

Yea Dave that is plenty cold. It was a little more than 11below this morning. It is 5.5below right now on North end of house. I am loading the wood same as usuall and notice no matter what air setting I am at with the cold and such I have a lot more coals as well.
Stay warm and you sure have a beutiful state.

Weather station says 7, but we're usually a little warmer because of the lake. Got a couple splits from a few hours ago coaling down for a night reload of ecobricks and whatever I brought in from the stack. The VF has kicked on a few times but we turned it up to 2 because I was baking (chocolate chip cranberry oatmeal and coconut cookies) and I felt like being warm in the kitchen. I'll turn it back to 1 before I got to bed and it will probably only kick on a few times tonight.

Dave those are some cold temps glad you have a King in your joint! There is no way anything other than a wood furnace would keep up at those temps. Glad I don't have to deal with that kind of cold.
