Found this today, pretty interesting

My favorite lines.....

"Few of us moderns have so tangible a reason to feel good about ourselves. This is why I prescribe a bucksaw, a maul, and set of splitting wedges along with a really big woodpile as therapy for the twitches, gout, flabby midsection, jangled nerves, or deep-seated feelings of alienation, powerlessness, inadequacy, and most other ills of modern society. A heap of fresh cordwood begging to be sawed, split, and stacked beats Valium any day."

I would exchange the prescribed bucksaw for my Husky 445.

I have been looking for a bucksaw. I am not sure I'll use it for all my cutting, but it would be fun some of the time, and as stated, cheaper than valium.

I've had one since '86 or so,farm estate auction purchase. One of the later ones, guessing mid-late '50's in vintage.Much better condition than most I've seen before or since.Comes in handy for cleaning up smaller poles & when I just have a few odds & ends to cut up.Fairly easy to sharpen & set the teeth too compared to my regular saws used in cabinetmaking.
