Sounds like a nice unit. What is the option of the bolt on ash pan and without bolt on ashpan? There are two types of surrounds one for and without the bolt on ashpan. Which would you go with? If the bolt on ashpan is larger this would be a no brainer.

The Asby-p comes with the ash pan. The option is to remove it to lower the unit for fireplaces that are to short. If it is removed you need to order a block off plate and the shorter surround. There are also screws in the hopper that allow the hopper to be lowered a couple of inches.

The Ashby is the new and improved York insert. One of the main improvements is the vastly enlarged ash pan. It is a nice running, well constructed unit.
