The supersacks are on a pallet. We sell very few of them. Most people who've tried them don't like them because they're too cumbersome and most importantly because the dust all settles to the bottom. So you have a sack with very little dust for a long time but when you get to the bottom of the sack, the fines have all accumulated there so the last part of the sack is very dusty by comparison. Plus, every time you scoop into it, it will cause a small amount of breakage and add to the dust at the bottom.

On home delivery of bulk: there are companies that do that. Maine Energy Systems does that and we have a truck too, but ours mostly delivers to schools and other larger buildings that take 15 to 30 tons per delivery.

Bulk pellets have been becoming more popular and I think it will continue to increase. Last week for example, 18.9% of what we shipped was bulk. And, all that bulk was used within Maine.

I'll let Scot speak for MWP - but it sounds like they would be willing to do more in bulk (and supersacks) for residential customers if there were more interested parties...Count me in.

I'd love to buy this way (better for the environment, as the bags are such a waste).

So I could go into business and make a 2 ton sack, and put these clowns out of business...

Weird tolienish figure? Not sure what tolienish means - Do you mean Tolkien-ish?

Yep. Musta missed the goddamn "k" on my Ipad when setting up my account. Now I'll be cursed forever...

Saw three of those on a trailer last week, as mentioned before, they were on pallets and wouldnWouldn't be off loaded just the same as if they were in 40 lb. bags. I think I could handle bringing them in from buckets, but I question how long an open bag we stay ok before they start to have moisture get in, or worse, the cat find them as a giant litter box like he did with the pail of pellets I had sitting next to the stove.

Gotcha. My folks live in northern Maine BTW.

Just FYI, there's NO APOSTROPHE in the plural of "manufacturer" as in your title. What you wrote means "belonging to manufacturer."

Getting to be common, as is stuff like "how big of a deal is it ...?" where the "of" says "I'm challenged in communication."

I thought I would be safe from members of the punctuation police in a pellet forum...

Given that the spelling police show up in force every time someone misspells Harman, I can't say I'm surprised ;)

NO, you can not have my pellets

How many do you burn a year to justify 22 tons? Just sayin'

I think you represent the Warren Buffet of pellet wealth, and you wouldn't miss a couple of tons...

I'm not good at math, but your sig doesn't represent more then 22 ton?

I bought cherry pits that came in a one ton sack. They were cheaper at the time...more time consuming though. Broke the sack down and but them into empty pellet bags I had saved. Wife said never again. Wasn't worth saving 25.00 to her.

Did you buy a whole truck load? OMV the super hog! :cheese:

He didn't check the expiration dates, they expired a year ago.

Then he needs to drop them off to you or I so we can properly dispose them. ;-)
