After almost 3 weeks of waiting its finally here and ready for the cold weather. The 2 gentleman that came out did a great job. very clean. didnt leave any mess and were vey professional. It took about 6 hours, 3 of that was just getting through the foundation. I have a concrete and stone foundation with a brick house built in 1949. They didn't like the 15 inch thick foundation too much. It was a basement install as I didn't want to pipe in a new zone for oil. didn't feel like wasting more money on oil. I also went out and bought a Lux thermostat cause the one the quad came with was pretty simple. Thanks Don2222 for alittle help with the Lux.

If you run that stove on a programmable stat, be careful......

For instance. Say you just have 2 (two) programs. You set it for 72° during the day. But at night (say 11:00pm) its set for 68°…

The stove goes from one set point to the next. So when the stat calls for 72° and kicks on. Stove starts up... Dropping pellets for one minute (1/2 cup of pellets). Then..... Bam.... 11:00pm. Stove hasn't started, so it stops feeding pellets (pot stil FULL). Then, temp drops a few more degrees and stove starts up again. Now you have 2 times the amount for start up. Its gonna sound like a freight train is rolling through your home, along with the possibility of an Overfire situation.

Quads run great on a stat, when set for the same temp... 24 hrs a day.

Congratulations on the install. Looks great. Be careful with set-backs on an On/Off stove. If the Quad was Hi/Low, it would be No worries......

Thanks for the heads up. I didnt plan on programing it for different times. I just got the stat based on members here, and for the swing. Mine is set on 8 now which i believe is +-2 degrees. This stove does pump out some serious heat tho

Run a swing of at least 2°… The Thermocouple in this stove only senses Heat. It doesn't know how full the Pot is? Or when the unit was last on? If the stove has shut down recently and not givin proper time to cool, the stove thinls that its up to operating temperature and instead of dumping 90 seconds worth of pellets at start-up and waiting for a signal from the T-couple, that there is Fire. The stove will dump 90 seconds worth of pellets and then before it starts up (flame) the auger will begin to drop more pellets, becaise it thinks there is a Fire. (Hope this makes sense).

So by running a big swing (2° to 3° is what I always run), your allowing the stove to shut down for awhile and let the Thermocouple cool down and get under temp (300° and 600° are the 2 that it "reads"). By 2°'s, do you mean 2° each way? Example : If your set-point is 70°, the stove will kick on at 68° and run until 72°… This is 2° in my mind. Some stats work different and only get based on the drop. Example : Stat set to 70°, Stove will kick on at 68° and off at 70°… This isnt 2° in my opinion.

Not a bad stove.. I love mine. I actually bought another stove to replace it and didn't end up doing it. I love my Quad :)
There are just a couple things I have found over the years, that can create an overfire (setbacks and quick cycles).

yes, 2°'s in both directions. I just actually put it on swing setting 9 which is the highest for 2.25° swing in both directions. I was reading in the manual for the Lux and it has a section on minimum run time. It says it will wait 5 minutes before turning on again to to prevent heating system damage which can occur from very frequent cycling.

Nice Job Buc!

Like Ron Popeil would say:
With that T-Stat you can set it and forget it! LOL

Really looks great!

Looking good! Enjoy!
