So i broke open my first pallet, I have to say its the best wrapped pallet of pellets i have had to date. I would have no problem storing these outside.( not that i would)
Grabbed a bag to try today because i have a decision to make in a few days.
Opening the bag first thought was stick my head inside and smell, I dont know if my sniffer is working or not today, but not much of any smell to me.
Pellet size was pretty small, smaller then im use ( not complaining)
So their burning now on low want to see how that is, then ill crank it up and see what all the hype is :)

You should see a marked improvement over the others even on low.

Wooooo these things are HOT i cranked it up and wow impressive. im sold and on the wagon now. its been awhile since i burnt oakies but these seem to be as hot. One thing i would like to point out while it was blazing ( and i mean blazing probably the most flames my stove has seen ) I lowered the stat to low and it took a long time for the stove to kick down to low, the stat said low but im assuming the stove stood so hot it had to cool off before the blowers shifted into low, and it was quite a while. I think i will be depleting some of my stash soon

Awesome. Now you know why we go nuts around here when we can get them. The big box stores have them sometimes and I Somerset hunt year round. They're by FAR the best game in town for me.

I was bored so i went out to the garage and grabbed a few bags of pellets. Nothing technical here,no ash consideration or anything just feel of hand ( and the old lady warming her butt against the stove :) )
Trebios rocked the house. Although they burn dirty these things are HOT i didnt realize how hot until i was comparing to others.
Somersets and hardwood heat ( hamer hot ones ) took 2nd really close
To my surprise Vermonts were next, thought they were better ( and may be better like i said nothing technical here )
green supreme, well i dont even know why i got them in line ;lol
i should of used the temp probe but i was just screwing around

Somersets are the Chit!

Period.. At least around here.

I have Rocky mountains in my Fahrenheit now. They burn pretty damn hot for Softwoods. But I will still take the Somersets every day over anything else. :)

Superior pellet in my area.

.....green supreme, well i dont even know why i got them......

Myself (and others on the forum), have been trying to tell everyone about the GS....they are just re-bagged NEWP and are poor, at best. Just barely a shoulder pellet.

It pays to be a lurker on this site. I was in Lowes (Big Flats NY) last week getting a few hurricane supplies and spied the Somersets. At the time I had never tried them but in the back of my mind I thought Jtakmans reviews were good with these. I bought 5 bags and proceeded to burn them in my just cleaned stove. Hands down the cleanest pellet I ever burned. Maybe not quite as hot as hammers or my beloved although MIA Countryboy they are sure close. I proceeded to add to my stash and scored 4+ tons at 188.00 a ton with my vet discount. Although I didn't need them for this year I found storing them in my pole barn they last a LONG time. Now my stash is 2 ton barefoot, 1 ton hammers, 1+ ton NEP, and 4+ tons somersets. I am thinking of stopping off after work a day or two next week and grabbing a few more bags here and there. Am I encroaching on pellet piggery?

You need to install another stove or 2 to burn all those pellets! You could shut your fan off at the top of the stairs because there wouldn't be anymore cold air to blow.:ZZZ
