Problem is, then I have to go back and retrieve the tools I dropped...
I think I would have waited for a nice cold morning and fired it up. No death is too kind for bald faced hornets.
I've lifted the lid on more than one LP tank and got ZOTTED by an angry horde of those things. .....Problem is, then I have to go back and retrieve the tools I dropped...
Actually wasps and hornets are two different critters and there are several kinds of each. Paper wasps and bald face hornets and their nests are way different from each other. Found some good pics of each................................About the Garn barrel... I didn't know about putting water in the barrel. Guess it would freeze anyway. I was told to put a little sand in the bottom so I did...................... Found the nest a couple of weeks ago and just removed it today. Nobody home. It's been below freezing here off and on for a month. They are long gone.
Hi, I,m from Belfast ME and I collect these nests. The one you have is a aerial yellow jacket nest and i would love to have it for my collection. If you still have can you send it to me? I can handle the shipping cost.

If you have large dogs, then hornets. Don't ask me how I knowThose vicious little hornets that make their nest in the ground can be a real problem for humans but not skunks. The skunks will dig the whole nest out for lunch. Not sure which is worse to have in your yard the hornets or the skunks....
