Since I stacked the rounds, it was easier to grab & put on the splitter horizontal.
Table on one side helps.

Little over 2 cords of spruce when all added up.
Made kindling out of the splits that had no of few knots until the splitter ran out of fuel.

Difficult to get a good picture of the mts, looking back into the sun

34°, little wind, mostly sunny, thin layer of high overcast.

Nice pictures. I really like pictures with the mountains in the background. I wish we had mountains around here.

Gee Dave, I stack the rounds too and just set the splitter next to the stack, sit down and it is very easy splitting.
Doing it like you did it might take twice the time to dry those splits...

Yea
I know.
Splitting vertical lets the water run out the ends. LOL :)

Man I knew I was doing something wrong, I can ONLY split horizontal.
But what if I lay the rounds in the splitter vertical? will that work?

Should ;)
Time for a test run ? LOL :)

Thank goodness that someone finally realizes how splitting vertical causes little dimples to pop up out of the ground on the other side of the world from where you are. Could cause the planet to spin right outa orbit, if you're not careful. Oh, and you have to dry those splits an extra year, too.

Only if you are sitting at the time.

sweet home Alaska...

I don't think I could split at all with those views Dave. Priceless!

Glad to see you split horizontal! Makes no sense to squat on a red milkcrate, stare at a piece of iron , and try and drive wood into the ground! Geez, I don't think those vertical splitting guys ( all 2 of them) have ever read there manuals!!!!! :D

Glad I go both ways  :)

NO, you might as well send it all to me. I will figure out something to do with it.;)

LOL
Send the stamps & stick on labels. US Post Office needs the income. :)
Gonna be heavy, not much seasoning time & was split 90° wrong. ;)

Yeah, as much trouble as it is going to be to dispose of it for you, I think you ought to have to pay the postage. And then there is the risk that Dennis will come visiting, and see it, and then we won't be friends anymore;)

Since it wasn't split correctly and will in turn have so much water in it. Maybe you could take the wedge off your splitter and put a flat piece on then you could squeeze the water out before you move it to the shed.

A wet wood wringer/de-watering press!
I like it :)

Split wrong? This thread is going downhill fast! Even ol Backwards Savage hasn't responded so maybe he finally has left the dark side and joined us normal horizontal splitters? :p
