Got at the jobsite around 8:00am, had it limbed and topped by 9:00, and on the ground, bucked up and loaded by 10:00.

Saved the double trunk top in 12' sections for making poles for my future wood shed. I'm going to take a crack at hand-hewing them into 6x6" or 6x8" posts. I'll need 10 total posts for the shed, I have three more pines to cut on Wednesday evening that will give me three more logs for posts (we were going to do them this afternoon but some other things came up), that will put me at 5 posts. Only 5 more to get by next spring.

limbs off, getting ready to climb and top the double trunk

Double trunk ready to drop, and pics of it on the ground with the "poles" taken off.....

So much for the day of rest ;lol

I have another dead blue to whack in my back yard, but once again I am sitting here cooking down yet another pile of 'maters for yet another couple gallons of sauce.

Good morning's work. Take a break.

gonna putz around the house the rest of the day, may do some tile work in the entryway this evening, other than that, I'll be home all day....

You have know what you are doing to take a tree down next the house like that one you did. Good work. I honestly don't know why one would want trees next to their home. Cabin, maybe, but not in your home. We get high winds, ice storms and high snow loads. Trees brake. They loose limbs and fall over all the time. They are messy and will mess up a car parked under one (sap, pitch and bug droppings) Always best to hire someone who knows and is able to take them down properly.

Still waiting for retired neighbor to wake up from his nap...On Friday he cut down their small 25 yr old pear tree that recently died, even cut the main trunk & larger branches to proper length.I didn't notice it until after lunch today, his wife was gonna have him call me,she thought he was saving all of it for me,I wanted to ask them first just in case.....About a wheelbarrow load, plus maybe 50lbs of dry sticks/twigs.

Now normally I wont haul away someone's brushpile, but any fruit or nut woods are a different matter.Especially when its barely 50 ft from my garage/shop door......;)

Much depends upon where you live. Our home is a cabin! Yes, we have trees very close and yes, we have some limbs fall. So far, never any damage.
