HELP!!! Lennox canyon vs. Lopi Cape Cod

400 cfm is very powerful. 700cfm plus is getting into furnace territory and at that output it will be noisy.

Do you have cathedral ceilings or 8-9' ceilings? Lots of windows or not too many or too large?

Is the floor plan very open, or are there a lot of rooms closed off from the area where the stove will be?
 
There is a big difference between the Cape Cod fan and most all other blowers. If you notice the Cod fan is a box style fan, not a squirrel cage. It's much more effective on a much lower speed with almost no noise. 400 cfm is plenty with this style!
 
I think the lennox guy might have been lying about the 700 ...that doesn't seem right. the room that it will be in is 8 ft. ceilings..
 
I don't want to steer you away from the Cape Cod, it's great. Do you have a Blaze King dealer near you? Since you didn't mind the look of the Lennox, (which I would Pass on by the way) you probably wouldn't mind the look of the King's.
The Lennox is rated at 7-12 hour burns. That means with air off you might get 12 hours and on high expect no more than 7 hours! That's pretty poor for such a big stove! The Cat stoves will give you a much wider range in burn times.
 
Does your dealer have a Cape Cod on a burning display?
 
This is why I suggested the big catalytic Kuma. It should be locally available and perhaps a better value. FWIW, based on the Country stoves I have seen they rate their stoves pretty conservatively, more based on the heat output than just having coals for a restart.

What is the floorplan like? Very open, or many rooms with doorways between them.

I definately wasn't thrilled with the look of the lennox. but if we are talking price...i could live with it. I think it's ugly and cheap looking. i just wanted to know if it was AS GOOD of a stove as the cape cod, and I'm finding that it seams that lopi is high end and lennox is low end.....i love the look of the cape cod.

Your right on! Did you notice the Blaze King Ashford that's in the add right above? It look very much like the Cape Cod, but will have longer burn times. It's my next stove!
 
If aesthetics are important I would also agree with the Ashford or the other cast iron jacketed stoves I mentioned previously. This is the newest entry into the cast iron clad steel stove crowd.

I am suspecting that you will not be heating the entire house with this stove. How big is the room it will be in and how open is that room to the rest of the house? This is important. First and foremost the stove is an area heater.

But are you happy with the Cape Cod? We already put money down to order it etc. If we change our mind. it's a $250. restock fee. I just want to know we are making a good decision because it's a good chunk of money. What did you pay for your cape cod stove alone?
 
I don't think it's a mistake at all! It's a very nice stove! The re-stock fee has me a little stumped, do they not keep any stock?
You should be looking to pay about $3,300 for black and $4,200 for enamel.
 
The cape cod will do great and she's a beaut! The blaze king king would heat better but ain't quite the looker in comparison. The cape cod is one of the top stoves around.

They said they had none in stock right now and had to order it. It's on it's way. I think we are going to be happy with it with all my studies today. Thank you every one for all your input. Here's to a warmer winter this year :)

I guess I should say that early reports are very good, but it is a new design so who knows long term. It's very efficient, looks great, and has some happy owners on here.

Too much air movement might result in cool being blown . Slower air movement gives the air more time to absorb the heat.

Bought the Cod a couple of months ago with blower. I've had 2 good fires since break-in and couldn't be happier. Enjoy!

The Lennox guy wasnt lying....the Lennox stoves have a 700 CFM fan and they are quiet. I have a Lennox Grandview going on it's third season and am very pleased with it's performance. Good luck in your quest for a stove that fits your needs as there are so many good products out there to choose from.
 
The design determines whether the stove is convective or not. Given the double panel of the Cape Cod, it allows for a more convective flow of air around the burn chamber and therefore is a convection stove.
