Newbie. Is this Red Oak?

Thats definitely Red Oak and it has spalting and powderpost beetle attack and ambrosia beetle attack and all the other appearances of dead standing Red Oak. I totally believe you hit the jackpot!!!
That was marvelous luck...get all the wood you can afford from him. Great deal!!
