Any advice on insulated liners, connections, general install pieces? Not sure where to purchase . Also what should be placed on top of chimney if you can't add a plate. My chimney has exposed clay flue out of the top.

I have exposed terra cotta out the top of my chimney. I still used the plate. Some bend it over, I just caulked the top of the terra cotta and left the plat sitting on it. I figured it would keep the rain further away from the inside of the flue. If I'm ever up on top of the chimney again I might bend it down, but I've been happy for 4 years now. I think of it as a stove pipe hat.

My liner came from ChimneyLinerDepot.com. http://www.chimneylinerdepot.com/

If you have a very tall chimney, the liner could be pretty heavy. I rented a bucket to pick it up and make a safer (for me) install. I don't regret it a bit!

I ordered mine from rockford chimney supply. They have an excellent customer service center and can walk you through what you need.
