My air control linkage on the Super 27 is very very squeaky and noisy. Is there a lubrication product that can be used safely in/near high heat? I tried graphite but could not get it inside the welded box around the linkage.

You could try spray silicone. Use on a cold stove only.

I've used WD 40 several times with great results. I spay some in the front where the metal rubs the top and also shoot some to the back where the rod passes through. I usually do this after starting a fire before the stove heats up so that the odor is sucked into the stove and doesn't make the room smell bad.

Spray silicone or graphite powder is pretty much odorless and more heat tolerant. I would expect their lubricant effect to last longer than WD40.
