The Time has Come

The owner of the company that sold and installed the boiler and flue system stopped in Friday afternoon to see how things were going and of course drop off the bill.

He was so impressed with how it looks, and the costs that he is going to put it on his place.

Just a little update.
Things are going along as expected, Gassers are a learning curve, but fun to figure out.
Not alot of heat loss to the garage so far, but then I'm not doing big burns as the temperatures are still prety mild.
I'm impressed with the lack of smoke out doors, but wasn't impressed with the smoke indoors!

The little things make a hugh difference.

Remember to seal your smoke pipe joints with a high temp silicone sealant to get rid of the smoke indoors problem ( what a difference).

Let the blower remove all of the wood gas(run 30 sec) first thing in the morning to prevent wood gas explosions which may cause lumps to appear in your shorts @ 6am!

Fill fire box while boiler is in the heat cycle to prevent smoke from exiting the fire box into the garage.

Clean boiler tubes once a week, and it will take 4 min. I had a local guy who bought the same unit last March call me Wed night and ask if I had any trouble cleaning my tubes. He hadn't done his since he bought it, couldn't get the brush through so hooked it up to a drill and broke the fiberglass rod, leaving the brush stuck in the tube

So yes I cleaned mine again when it was shut down Fri am, even though there has only been about half a dozen or so burns.

I'm enjoying the Gasser/ Dragster exprience so far.

Yes the rig on the back of the boiler is their optimizer, which handles the low return water temp problems that seemed to cause the issues with the early installs.
The strap on aqua stat doesn't allow the oil boiler to fire if the water temp in the pipe is above a set temp. Right now I have it set at 140* F

I am just using the Pro Fab chemical. I have no storage as of yet.
