Hello,
I am new to pellet stoves and installed a cab50 last sunday ( so this stove ran perfect for 5 1/2 days- got it started and ran great till today) - I was out and pellet stove ran out of pellets and then the nightmare began - The auger will no longer feed pellets into the firepot - Here is what I tried to rectify this - removed the auger and cleaned out the feed tube and hopper completely - then put the auger back in - no luck - thought it might be the door switch - tried to bypass - no luck - maybe the snap disk #2 - bypassed that - still no luck - also bypass the vacuum switch- no luck and tested the thermocouple - shows good - but auger will still not come on - there are no venting issues and I am totally out of ideas - can someone please help - this stove is brand new.....

Hi - Thanks for replying - I do have pellets in the hopper and the hopper lid is closed - now when i try to throw and handful of pellets into the firepot - they will not light so issues are even greater than i originally thought - think they sold me a lemon

So you hit the reset button in the back?

Any lights blinking? Something simple like the magnet that activates the hopper lid switch out of place, feed spring not turning with feed motor

When in doubt, contact who you bought it from or Customer Care

Hi again and thanks for replying - yes exhaust fan comes on - get to flashing blue lights - yes i hit the reset and i bypassed the hopper lid switch - same thing happens - feed motor will not start - as soon as this problem began - i was able to put a handful of pellets in the fire pot and they would start to catch and burn till i got green light on control board - now nothing except for exhaust fan comes on - all i can say is wow - not good for a stove 5 and half days old - got me mind boggled - any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for everyone's suggestions.

Another update I did try the 1-800 number and they said that it might be the control board - and the dealer has a tech and he said he is unable to visit till Tuesday. Tech thinks it might be control board as well - but does it control all those devices in the stove? has anyone heard of all these issues before with one stove?

Thanks - I'll try - but was really liking the heat of the stove and just not working at all now - the manufacturer said it sounds like a lemon and to tell dealer to order a new one - that is crazy !!

Unplug it and plug it back in ???

Curious which control board you have, new one or old one. Care to post the sku for the board?

Couldn't determine from your post if you direct connected the auger motor and tried to run. Also, once you run out of pellets the auger channel will take a little time to re-fill. You might have to hit the reset 2 - 3 times.
Like gfreek said unplug wait a couple of minutes plug back in. Blue lights should blink. Start and keep hitting reset every minute or so, should start to feed.

Hello Everyone - Im very pleased today :) - went to the dealer I told him I thought the control board was gone he gave me a replacement took it home and installed it and the stove is running sweet - to salladin the SKU - I am not sure but manufacture date is 03/2013 - so for anyone in the future all these issues are caused by a bad control board - I guess 14 years experience as a break and fix tech help in every situation....

Happy Holidays to all - we have a storm of 60cm of snow on Monday and I am some glad to have the stove up and running again :)

this is great news! and you didn't even have to wait till tuesday.
i've been running my PS50 2 1/2 years without a glitch.

Good deal.

We have a small but proud cab50 group here. Always helps when searcing the forums about cab50 when posters come back and provide their solution. Thanks for that.

I am a proud new member of the cab50 group . Purchased one last weekend and installed as my second pellet stove in my house(basement) 1st floor harman xxv . So far so good ....great stove for the price . Purchased a king 5502m from tractor supply about a month ago and returned it for a refund . Real POS in my opinion . Could never get to run more than a day without crazy flashing fault codes .

I've had mine since sept and it has ran like a tank. I've put about every kind of pellet I could find in my area through it and it doesn't have any trouble burning them. Definitely like the barefoots and somersets the best :)
