Back to NJ from Barbados last night.

Got home and was eager to get the stove going. Started very small as I was worried about my sub zero flu temps. But got good draft quickly and had a small fire going. Eventually loaded up and had it really going before turning it down for the over night. Slept on the couch as I was uneasy of the stove bc it was so cold and I haven't used it in such conditions. So I closed the baffle (or so I thought and laid down for about 4 hours. I woke up and I could see flames! Which is rare in this stove. I thought maybe a leak? Baffle loose? Took the dog out and saw white smoke pouring out the cap?! Come back inside and I've had the baffle the wrong way the whole time.... It's closed now and burning ok. How bad is what I've done???

You should be just fine. Might be a good time to again read the manual for your stove, just to get more comfortable and better familiar. I do not think you have hurt anything.

The damage is likely irreparable... you should bring your stove to my house immediately for further testing, and leave it there until further notice.

Haha. Alls good. Too many banks beers and rum drinks. Maybe driving on the left has me backwards. Stoves working great and no smoke to be seen outside!

Rats.
