I would think there are a few variables that would need to be known first. Where you live and how many sq feet you are heating. I live in the northeast and it has been unusually cold this year. In addition to that we haven't had much snow so there is no insulation around the house. Last year was our first year with our Harman P43 and we used four tons of pellets. This year we have already gone through two ton and we aren't even through January yet.

1800 square foot home, Heat only ran to the downstairs, of course its a boiler so also use it for my hotwater.

Just seeing how many every once else has used.

I probably went through a good 20 bags wasted with mess ups with the boiler before i got it running good.

5 1/2 tons as of today. BUT every corner is toasty warm. Chris...stop thinking you are gonna use as much as these guys with "space heaters" and enjoy the benefits of central heat...mess down stairs...and for every ton of pellets you burn , is 120 gallons of fuel oil you didn't have to buy.

oh dont get me wrong, i know i am going to burn more than someone with a stove. Just curious how everyone is doing this year so far. How they are comparing to years past.

Th money ive spent so far on pellets i would of paid that per month for oil and the house wouldn't be nearly as warm.

Just give it a good cleaning today and put in my green supremes to see how they do.

At a ton and a half. Looking at a $1500.00 savings in oil. Love it!

10 bags left on my 2nd ton. Propane guys came to fill the tanks Friday and left without getting the hose out! Really loving my stove.

1 ton in central wi? How did you do that?

We are starting ton #3

As of yesterday I have burned 6.5 tons since August.

I had my Harman pb105 installed at the end of September and i am about 13 bags shy of burning 4 ton

Is that good or bad?
It all depends upon what you are heating and your degree days. I'm heating a fairly well insulated 3000 sq. ft. Cape with a PB105 and I bought 8 tons to start (and I thought finish with this season) and have burned 7 bags short of 5 tons. Am burning between 2 bags and 5 bags per day depending upon the outside temps and wind. We have had some -15 to -20 degrees with 20 and 30 mph winds and some days in the 30s. Average day in the teens, the boiler will burn about 3 bags. Looks like I'll need to buy more pellets this year.

I'm right around 3 tons through my P68. Close to 4 left in the stash.

1.5 but turn stove off on warm days, fire it up when get home.24' square log cabin,3 floors, stove in basement.42 degrees here today, southern exposure, sut off stove at noon, probably won't start untill tomorrow night.man you guys back east getting hammered again!

I just finished up my 2nd ton cleaning. It went a little smoother than my 1st ton cleaning for the season. Now I need to get my next ton of pellets to finish out the season.

Awesome, keep reminding yourself, the more pellets you burn, the more money you saved on oil.

3.5 tons as of right now.... having baby around this year is eating up my pellets :)

2 1/2 tons between my two stoves in my house here in Maine. I think I've burned 15 bags in my stove at my house on Prince Edward Island this year. I don't usually keep track of my usage up there because I don't spend a lot of time there in cold weather. The nights do get cold there, however, in the spring and fall. I don't do winters there anymore because I almost got stuck there one winter, due to the Confederation Bridge being closed for a blizzard. The weather there is more unpredictable than New England weather.

A ton of pellets roughly equals a cord of hardwood splits? 4-5 cords at this point would seem a lot, even with whole house boiler. Just seems that way, but I'm not doing it.

Having to keep the door open to the feed all that cord wood into the fire and the doors open to bring it into the house is where burning pellets even things up:)

Just started ton #3 this weekend. Toasty warm and love not having the oil truck mess up the aesthetics of my front yard since it doesn't stop here anymore! >>

The fuel truck parking in front is only a pain for maybe 15 minutes, the pain felt in giving up ten or so Ben Franklins is far more lingering.
