Well, I ran into another problem today. I pulled the stove out to clean the area around the ESP probe and when I was sliding the insert back In I ripped the room temp probe out of the sensor.
I guess I will have to buy a new one.
My question, is it best to wire tie it on the bottom left of the stove? Or is there a safer place for it where it won't get ripped off again?

That stinks, Im gonna pull my accentra insert(first time) to do a good cleaning after a ton of use, ill pay close attention to that probe thanks to you

do you have the rail kit? (i do) hope I can handle pulling out the stove

Carl,

I do a weekly cleaning -vacuum ,brush , scrape etc. going to attempt the "leaf blower trick" as well along with pulling the stove for the first time curious to see whats in the fines box after a ton

I have the rail kit and I have pulled the stove out about 20 times and have had no problems with wires. Today my luck ran out, room sensing probe got wedged somehow and ripped right out of the rubber boot that protects it.
Does the probe go on the outside of the Rail or on the inside of the rail? I'm waiting for my dealer to drop me off a new probe. Thanks!

Sorry to say that mine is not wire tied at all, (will be tonite)just kinda hangs on the outside of the rail , as far as i can tell from the manual
it should be outside - makes sense because the small space on the inside rail could be subjected to radiant heat from under the stove
but i digress to more experienced owners

We always feed it out from behind the cast iron surround on the left side. there is a little notch in the corner that we feed it thru and leave it on hearth. usually home owner props it up on a ash bucket ect or hang off the side of the hearth. Doing it like this it is clearly out of harms way.

Same here I been reading the manual and watching the harman vid getting myself prepped.lmk how the leaf blower wrks haven't though of that. Gnna break in my new 4 inch wire brush with the 25 ft rods up the pipe as well as esp, fines box. Mine is flat so don't need the rail kit. Good luck

I don't have an insert, but out of curiosity, how can that probe get accurate readings being sort of encased behind the surround? I assume the surround is vented, but it seems it would still get hotter than hell behind there. Is the probe calibrated differently from Harman?

Just wondering

Just got my new probe and the connectors on the end were female, same as the ones on the connection to the stove. I just cut off the old male connectors and used a wire nut and electrical tape to mend them together. Stove is cranking right now!!
Hopefully no more issues this season!
