Just got my 555. First saw if this caliber and all I can say is wow. Looking forward to bucking up some logs once the snow melts. Any advice as to how to run her for the first few tanks?

I know right? Its AWESOME. I just got mine a few weeks ago too.
All I can say is to read the owners manual. The 555 is a little different to some other saws.
You need to adjust the autotune by running full throttle while cutting a few rounds for the first few minutes of operation the first time. Also the bulb is not a primer, it is a purge.
Reading the OM will clear any questions up.
Have fun!

I picked up a 550xp last year, I think the 2 are pretty similar. Great saws! Muffler mod that guy!

X2 on reading the owners manual. I couldn't get mine to start the first time, I kept flooding it. Took it to a local dealer who couldn't get it started either (they didn't have the "new" series saws in yet). I ended up calling the dealer online I bought if from and he gave me the starting instructions, never had an issue after that. I was used to saws actually starting while on the "choke/start" setting. This little guy just burps, and that's the cue to switch the lever.

Read the manual regarding how to start cold and hot.

For the first 10 minutes find a large log you can bury the bar in and run WOT making constant cuts so the auto tune can do it's thing. You will be able to hear and smell the mixture adjustments being made.
