Has snow getting into an OAK ever been a concern?
It's snowing heavily where I am, and I feel like I can hear something like snow inside my OAK...

Thanks!

Never had a problem
What does snow inside a OAK sound like?

It is important that the oak be above the high snow line. Snow shouldn't be a problem unless you have an input screen (bug and rodent deterrent) that is fine enough to get blocked by the snow.

My OAK screen gets clogged occasionally when the snow is blowing and it runs up under the hood. Happened today. Got home and pot was filled and flame real lazy. My routine when this happens is: Open the bin lid to stop the pellet feed, open the ash drawer about an inch to allow air in the chamber, let the pellets burn down in the pot, close bin lid and voila - a nice hard burning flame. I keep the ash drawer open till I get a chance to go out and clean the screen, sometimes a day sometimes a week. Works well for me.
