Just finished my regular deep cleaning after burning a ton or so of pellets. During the cleaning I noticed that the convection blower looked pretty caked with dust. Unlike the convection blowers which is easy to get out the CB is a little more difficult as it sits behind the control board and a bunch of wires. I was considering cleaning it in place but, being a fairly intelligent guy, I realized that if I didn't get all the dust the fan would distribute it around the room thereby ensuring the wrath of my wife. So my questions are, was I being overly cautious and how do the rest of you MVAE owners clean that blowers, if at all. Thank you.

I don't clean either of mine during the season.I have never had a problem with them during the heating season.

Does that imply you clean the convection blowers at the end of the heating season? Are they inserts or standalones? If you do clean them at seasons end, do you remove it or clean it in place? My blower is starting to accumulate some dust on the fins which means it's not moving as much air as it could/should.

I clean both blowers at the end of season they. Are stand alone stoves, both vented differently..

I clean my convection blower once a year at the end of the season when i'm "closing" up the stove. I clean the combustion blower after every ton.

In the MVAE free standing stove, you need to remove the control box to get to the convection blower. On the insert, just pull the insert out far enough to service it.

here is a video of the free standing unit.
