The last few times the stove has not lit on its own.....got 6 years out of the original ignitor and hopefully more. This is a post for 2 reasons....I decided to pull off the front plate where the ignitor is like I always do and usually just use my finger to pull any debri out from the front. Since the stove was not lighting I decided I would use my compressor and lightly blow off the ignitor and the area around the ignitor. (good to have the stove on test to help pull dust thru the chimney and not into your house).
Second part got me to thinking, people have been talking about how fast the glass gets dirty.....I also blew air into the airwash chambers and, man, a lot of ash and dirt blew out of the front. Not sure if this will make a difference.....will try it out tonight when the temps cool down.....and with the cold air coming back will have a chance to see if the glass stays cleaner longer then a week.
stay tuned! LOL
