I was sick the past few years with several episodes of 4-8 days no power .... if I am home to fire the generator 10000 ... BS I am good ... have it set up in generator "shed" with sides that open and large door ...(never had a problem with build up .... sides are too open) I do the switch and fire up the house....(limited but it gets me thru )

The sound really was not a factor for me. My house is insulated fairly well, the windows are new. It is louder than the honda but in my opinion $400 is a fair trade off. I can't really hear it running out doors during the few times I tried it out.

You can have a conversation when the load is small and it is in flex power mode. When it is running full bout it is loud.
