Is there any way to fix it? Seems the handle is no longer attached to the scraper. If so, how on earth do you get to it??? I found a replacement part called, "scraper rod replacement kit". Is that what I need?

PM me and I can send you the instructions for the scraper kit. It is a job to do but I don't know of any other way to replace the scraper rod connection in there due to how close the tubes are together.

Mine's broken too, the rod is welded? to the scraper, after years of heat it breaks away from scraper, the rode kit comes with a rod and 2 nuts you pull out old rod, hack saw it off then push old rod back in where it will fall out, then insert new rod add a nut then slide it to the scraper and attach another nut on back of scraper and tighten

Ohhhh, I can see the kit has a rod with a threaded end and nuts so I assumed that's the way it was originally. I was hoping I could just put the nuts back on and not have to pay over $100 for the kit. No such luck, huh? The stove has kept us warm, faithfully, for years so it's to be expected that it'll need some repair. There are a few other minor things I can take care of at the same time. At least it isn't a control board or fan/auger motor, (knock wood)!

Maybe you could use a die on the end of the original rod and by some nuts?

The end of the rod has a I assume welded riv nut, i tried unscrewing it even got a torch up there, no deal, if you cut the end off it would be too shoft, the repair kit is $36 plus shipping

Mine has been broken for a while now, I just use a pair of pliers when I clean the stove. You can move the scraper plate if you do it evenly and not put it in a bind. A bit messy but cleaning the stove is a bit messy also.
