I just want to show off our new baby. We were told it was a Mansfield, but now we know that it is a Hearthstone 1. It is in excellent shape inside and out. Now comes the hard part, moving it into our daylight basement family room. At least it isn't upstairs. We paid $600 for it.

Sorry about the sideways picture. It looks normal in my picture file. We will get it moved and post some pictures in its new environment. Can't wait for it to get cold enough to make soup and fire up our new baby. You can't tell im excited can you? I think I'm a pioneer women!
That is one sexy stove. I have always like the lines of that stove. Congrats. Don't rush winter - it will be here soon enough.
Any tips on repairing the only two enamel chips on the whole stove? They would have to be on the front door. Anybody have any pictures of this type of stove with the warming shelf in place. This stove came with an enameled warming shelf that was never even unpacked.
I think our stove might be called a "Brownstone" any ideas? No more posts today, I promise! Can you tell I have the day off and i'm excited about our new stove?
Yes, there is a side loading door on the other side. The shelf is supposed to go on the end with no door.
It is a Hearthstone 1 Fireplace, not the full H1. It lacks several H1 features like the thermostatic damper and the secondary combustion tube. These might be able to be retrofitted.

Wow that's a beautiful stove.I have the "One" which has double doors in the front and weighs about 800 lbs and takes 8 " pipe.Can't wait to hear how yours does when the cold comes.If it's anything like mine you'll be sweating.
This one is a Hearthstone 1 "fireplace" It weighs 729 pounds. It also has a warming shelf in the brown enamel with beautiful support brackets that were never even unpacked. We haven't put it in place yet. We will in the next week or so. We have to add to our rock pad to get the needed clearances. I am going to make a tile or stone "rug" to the end with the side loading door. I think this one was made in 1990 I will post pictures when we get it installed.
I would investigate to see whether the thermostatic damper can be retrofitted and would definitely add a secondary tube like in the H1.
Do you have any idea who I would check with about adding the secondary tube and thermostatic damper? This stove is 729 lbs. not exactly one that you can just throw in your truck and take somewhere easily. We are so proud of just getting it down off the truck in one piece. We live in Olympia, WA
I can't find the number of the gentleman who sold me my restored H1.If you look at my previous posts regarding the H1 you'll see his number.His name is Randy and lives in Vermont.He could tell you how to modify the stove.Did the previous owners of your stove mention the burn times of your stove?Your stove by weight is similar to mine which might mean that the heat coming off the stove after the fire is out is great for a couple more hours if the area is insulated.
