Well, I just had my first issue with my pellet stove.

Pellet stove was turning on, suddenly I hear a small burst. I look at the pellet stove and smoke is coming out from the front door and i notice that unburned pellets have overflown.

Anyone know why this happend?

I have a harman p43. Bought it new last year. I've probably total burnt about 1 ton.

Have you cleaned the stove? Is the vent clean? Did you remove the ash cleanout from the burnpot and clean that out? Have you cleaned the esp? Most stove issues are due to a dirty stove. Even though we think we cleaned everything sometimes we miss something.
 
Sounds like a delayed ignition that ignited a very smoke filled burn chamber. Review cleaning video and clean again. Really pay attention to the igniter and burn pot holes. Good luck
 
Check the handle and make sure it is latching correctly and securely. Mind came loose last year and the door started to leak creating an incorrect draft path causing the stove to take to long to light off and then the resulting smoke will leak out the door.

When my ESP was dirty, the stove would light but it would keep feeding pellets and overflow the burn pot.

Whenever I have had the explosion during ignition it was because of ash around my ignitor. Scraping the top or the burn pot, removing the cover by the ignitor and cleaning out all the ash inside, tapping the thin cover over the ignitor to knock out the fine ash, and tapping the side of the burn pot to shake light ash loose has always fixed it for me. When cleaning out underneath the burn pot, be careful of the wires for the ignitor. If you catch and pull them you can damage the connection where the wires enter the heating element.

It's a joke Harman owners, no need to lose your marbles.

Could be the burn pot not sitting properly in the craddle. Happened to me once.
All else fails, clean the stove.

X2 what he said...scrap the burn pot make sure the little holes are not plugged ..i use a allen wrench
