Would prefer to be able to adjust the swing temp to 1 degree. Battery powered if possible.

This is for use with my stoves high/low setting.

imacman, check the specs on that honeywell, it is not millivolt and does not work with a pellet stove....
Yep, you're right Don. I didn't read the specs for them.....good catch. I'll delete my post.

Don, I have the Ecobee si, and I was wondering if you could point me to a link where it shows how your model hooks up to a millevolt system. I looked on the Ecobee site, and it says negative things about being able to run a millivolt system. I found this for my unit: https://ecobee.zendesk.com/entries/...Power-Extender-Kit-with-ecobee-Si-thermostats
I don't have a pellet stove, just interested in the thermostat. Thanks. PS: The thermostat server has been solid-only one outage as far as I can tell in a year or so, and Support emailed that there was an outage going on. The display shows "outdoor" temperature based on a nearby weather station via web.

Honeywell makes a new stat that's Millivolt and runs on their redlink system. The stat is about $125-$150 and the redlink internet gateway about $75. Gives you remote access for free (other than your home internet costs).

I have been running the redlink gateway access in my home on my 3 other thermostats for over a year now with zero issues.

I ordered it today and will install it next week. Does need a 24 volt power source (which just about every wifi thermostat needs anyways).

how has this worked for you? do you have a link to the product?

It has been working flawlessly for me since install. Funny you posted it, since I just logged into the system from work and turned on the pellet stove (around 50 here today).

I still use the temp dial on the stove to set the desired room temp. The thermostat is more or less a fancy dummy switch (I normally leave it set to 80, even though my picture below says otherwise), that way the stoves controls dictate how it ramps up and down. Plus having the remote thermostat set to the desired temp may cause the stove to do a lot of short cycling as it hovers around the desired temp. If my memory serves me correct I went into the thermostats installers menu and was able to adjust it to only cycle on/off 2 or 3 times per hour. Thus helping to prevent short cycling.

I did a write up on the system last year. Link is below. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Here are a few screen grabs of online interface. The apps for the phones have the same look/feel.

Finally picked up a wifi thermostat, Honeywell rth8500wf on sale for a bit over $100 CND all in. Just hooked it up and just tweaking some settings. easy installation and setup. bonus I was able to tap in to my doorbell for power so no need for another transformer.
