I have an old Quad 1000 that has worked flawlessly for years until I fired it up a few days ago.....feeds pellets for a few minutes....stops as per the manual and never starts again.
So far I have thoroughly cleaned the stove and exhaust pipe, re-set the thermocouple sheath , checked the seal around the fire pot and door....all good. I checked the line going to the pressure switch , blew it out ...still the same, feeds and shuts down.
A few minutes ago I took the pressure switch off and jumped the wires to rule out a bad switch and still the same. There are no lights lit on the control box (red/green) so i am leaning toward the 2 wire thermocouple that must be at least 15 years old. The sheath fell off last year and the end of the wire got pretty cooked.
Any suggestions..? I know this is an old stove but it is a beast and throws heat like crazy....I have a brand new St. Croix Prescott I got a deal on last year but can bring myself to replace the Quad yet !!
Thanks for the help as always
