Did you ever try changing your setting from 6 4 1 to something like 3 4 1 or something different.
And you are sure you are in mode D?

Also, if you are using pellets that are small, you my need to close off the lower plate a little inside the hopper..
short pellets feed a lot faster and will run hotter.

Don't know what to tell you... i can get 20-24 out of a 40 pounder on heat settings in post #19

Mine is in D more.
I have that plate closed as far as I can get it.
